BLUSH AND CHAMPAGNE DIAMOND WEDDING INSPIRATION

With wedding season in full swing I’ve been busily working away on custom engagement rings and wedding bands for a few very special brides-to-be. I keep coming back to the imagery below. Sweet, muted blushes, wild flowers, the finest tulle, and champagne diamonds. And I cannot say enough about my obsession with the latter. Last year I made several engagement rings using gorgeous champagne diamonds and am slowly dreaming up a bespoke Bridal Line for the Shop using a few of my favorite settings.

Vintage jewelry – an eye on evolving design

vintage-roundup

I have long had my eye on vintage jewelry. Each peace tells us so much about the era in which it was created. From Victorian and Edwardian to Art Deco, each piece speaks volumes about its wearer, designer and the influences surrounding its creation. Each of the four pieces above clearly hails from different eras but are so uniquely gorgeous in their own right. Each piece gives us little clues about when it was created and what type of person might adorn such rare beauties.

The challenge of jewelry design – for my work anyway – is to create an undeniably unique and feminine alchemy between classic motifs and contemporary sensibilities that underscore how a woman accessorizes and expresses her individuality. In decades past, jewelry was stronger, bolder – more of a statement item. Though I believe women today are yearning for a more delicate style that still expresses their femininity and desire to collect beautiful pieces in a more understated fashion. Pieces that can be worn everyday, regardless of the occasion. Chic, everyday delicate jewelry – that still causes a second-take by passersby.

As modern women that are doing more and more with our days – many of us (myself included) are choosing jewelry that can withstand the many facets and demands of our lives. From our toddlers and babies yanking on our necklaces and trying on our rings to showering and working out wearing the very same pieces! This is the very reason why I went into jewelry design. I wanted to wear something that I just couldn’t find out there in the marketplace. I wanted beautiful, unique 14k pieces that I could wear all day every-day and not worry about how it was holding up!

As a designer I pull inspiration from virtually everywhere. And I always come back to classic pieces. Though large and gorgeous they may be, I love discerning the hidden messages in each piece. Here’s a few of my favorite finds:
